Mr Pender - Chairman  
Jon has been on the governing body for many years and Chairman for the past five. He has two children who both attended the School.  He is a partner in a local firm of solicitors, where he specialises in commercial law.  In his spare time he enjoys running and has completed many marthons.  He is also a keen traveller.  Recently he has been climbing the Himalayas, cycled around Vietnam, Cambodia and India, canoed in the Amazon and is currently planning his next adventure in Patagonia."

 

Mr Lee - Vice Chair  

Ben is the Director of a local plumbing company Pamber Plumbers and has been a parent governor for over 5 years.  Ben lives in Pamber End and is an active member of the Sherbornes with Pamber churches. Ben's daughter has now left the Priory - the foundation that the Priory gave has allowed her the thrive in the next stage of her education. Ben’s son is in year 6 and is enjoying to the full the range of opportunities given to him by the Priory.  As one of the longest standing parent governors Ben brings an experienced voice to the Governing Body.

Mrs Kelly - Ex Officio  

Suzanne became Head Teacher at The Priory in September 2007. She is very proud of the school and was delighted when Ofsted inspectors judged it to be "Outstanding" in March 2010. Suzanne is married with 2 daughters and lives in Reading. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her 3 spaniels and vegetarian cookery.

Mrs Love - Staff Governor  

Sandra is not only a governor but deputy head and teacher in year two. She is married with two children both of whom attended the Priory in the past. Sandra enjoys being part of the schools senior management team and played a key role in the recent ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspection. When she is not at school she enjoys travelling the world and working with young cricketers at a local club.

Mrs Bowman - Support Staff Governor  

Sharon is a non-teaching staff representative. She joined the governing body in November 2010 and has had a long association with the school. She currently works as a mini-bus driver and catering assistant in the school kitchen helping to produce over 140 meals per day. Sharon is married with two children who both received their primary education at the Priory School. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dogs and raising money for various charities.

Mrs Dwerryhouse - LEA Governor  

Jessica has been a Local Education Authority Governor since November 2009.  She is Financial Monitoring Officer and is on the Performance Management and Admissions Committees.  Jessica worked at Citibank and then Barclays de Zoete Wedd (now Barclays Capital) within their Structured Finance Divisions, prior to moving to Barclays head office to work within Group HR.  She does not have children at the Priory but her family lives locally in Ibworth and she is a full time mother with a son and daughter.

Mrs Salsi - Community Governor  

Tina is a part-time teacher at The Priory, working with Gifted and Talented children but at the moment is on maternity leave.  She was a full time teacher between 2001 and 2006 before returning in 2008. Tina became a Community governor in November 2007 and was thrilled to be part of Priory life again.  Her governor responsibilities include Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding. She is the Healthy Schools governor and worked closely with staff on the Healthy Schools initiative culminating in July 2009 with The Priory being awarded Healthy Schools status.  For the past two years she has also been Chair of The Curriculum and Standards Committee.

In her spare time, Tina enjoys swimming, reading and going to the theatre.  She is also a volunteer on a pre-school committee of her and is enjoying learning more about how education at this stage works. 

Mr Wilson - Partnership Governor  

Roger has been a governor since January 2010 and is the proud father of his son.  He is Chairman of the Resources Committee and also sits on the Admission Committee. Roger is a director at an international architectural firm based in London and lives in Charter Alley.

Mrs Armitage - Parent Governor  

Sue became a parent governor in March 2010. She has recently taken on extra duties of chairing the curriculum committee while Mrs Salsi is on a maternity break. Sue has two children in Years 3 and 6. Prior to having a family she worked for Xerox for 15 years as a product manager with international responsibility for sourcing specialist  paper and inks. She now works part-time for a software company in Basingstoke.  Sue is also a member of the Parents Association and is a regular helper in the Reception Class on a Monday morning.  Her governor specialisms include Literacy, Foundation stage and Educational visits.  She loves helping out on the school trips, listening to the children practise their reading and working with them on  various craft projects.

Mr Blanch - Parent Governor  

John joined the Governors at the end of November 2010. His youngest son is in the Junior School. John is retired, having served as an Army Officer and then as a commercial airline pilot. A psychology graduate, his particular interest was in Human Factors, but he spent much time doing voluntary committee work, the experience of which he hopes to put to good use here.

Mr Perkins - Parent Governor  

Robert has been a parent govenor since January 2009. He is currently responsible for Numeracy, Performance Management and external communications. Robert works for BT in London and lives in Monk Sherborne. He has a daughter and a son at the Priory.

Mr Whitehead - Parent Governor  

David works for Harmonic Inc, a US Technology company based in Farnborough. He has had two children, the younger of whom is in her final year at The Priory. David greatly enjoys his role as a governor and works as the ICT lead on the governing body and Vice Chair of the Curriculum Committee.
