Our Aim

The object of the Parents Association is primarily to support the school as they educate our children. Putting it simply, by raising money, we can then provide and assist in the provision of facilities and items for the children.

Often school budgets cannot stretch to the extras that we would like our children to benefit from, whether it is an updated reading scheme, new library books, storage for a classroom or reduced travel costs for school trips.

We hope to offer activities or events that both parents and children can enjoy whilst contributing to the funds raised.

How you can help

  • BE INVOLVED!
    The biggest single thing you can do to help is be interested. Every parent with a child at the school is automatically a member and can vote. This means you can come to an AGM with suggestions for expenditure and influence what funds are spent on. You can vote towards electing a new committee. It is important that parents take part at these meetings, as within our constitution we have stipulations about needing certain numbers in attendance for a motion to be carried forward.
  • JOIN THE COMMITTEE!
    • Full Members:
      meet at least once a month and they take responsibility for planning and running events during the year
    • Co-opted Members:
      Come to meetings if they are able to, help plan and run events.
    • Register of Helpers:
      If you do not want to join the committee but would be able to help at events then join the bank of helpers that we can call on for larger events. It might be helping to set up or run a stall at a fete or helping at a disco. If you have any particular skills that you would not mind using for us, then again please let us know. Good examples of this are craft making, cake making or decorating, sewing, knitting or IT skills. There are many talented people out there, but we do not always know who you are!
  • SUPPORT OUR EVENTS!
    • Participate
      Come to a quiz night, enjoy a fashion show, bring your children to the Christmas Fare. Every penny raised will help our children and you can enjoy yourself at the same time.
    • Donate
      please send items into school if we ask, we know sometimes a lot comes at once but there are periods of the year where we barely bother you!
    • Talk to us
      let us know if there are ideas that you think we could try or if you do not like something. We cannot promise to please everybody, all of the time, but we are interested in what you think.
  • GO SHOPPING ONLINE!
    When you want to shop online, go to www.buy.at/thepriory. Profits from your purchase will go to the Parents' Association for use on school projects.

Uniform

Items of school uniform can be purchased through the Parents Association. There are order forms showing what we offer and the prices outside the school office. Please complete a form enclosing payment and send it in to the office who will then pass it to the uniform co-ordinator. The order will then be passed to your child in their class.
